VERONA AND VALPOLICELLA - FULL DAY
Verona, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, incorporates artistic elements of the highest quality testifying over 2.000 years of Italian history. After a breathtaking panoramic view of the city from ‘Torricelle’, the hills that overlook Verona - a perfect point for some unforgettable pictures - you will have the opportunity to enjoy a walking tour of Verona taking in its many highlights such as Castelvecchio, the San Zeno Church (famous for having been the place of the marriage of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet), the Arche Scaligere (an elegant gothic mausoleum), the Shakespearian Home of Juliet and, of course, the Roman Amphitheatre known as the Arena, which is internationally famous for the large-scale Opera performances given there. It is one of the best preserved ancient structures of its kind even if built in AD 30 - when it hosted more than 30,000 spectators for the “Ludi” (shows and games).
Then you’ll have the choice discover an enchanting natural paradise such the Valpolicella wine district: hills covered with vines, olive and cherry trees, the perfect scenic back-roads to explore passing through enchanting villages, beautiful Venetian and Renaissance villas and Romanesque churches before arriving to a celebrated 1st level winery producing the most important and well known local wines. You will be able to taste some of the best Amarone, Recioto, Soave, Ripasso and Valpolicella wines together with a selection of local snacks to accompany them. These wineries are often derived from enchanting Villas owned by noble families of the region, surrounded by lush gardens and centuries-old parks which are a fiesta for the eyes (and not only for the palate...)

The price of a wine-tasting starts from € 15,00 p.p. for a shared visit/tasting with a maximum of 20 people in total (which is the option we offer) up to € 100,00 p.p. per person in case of a private visit with tastings of “vintage excellences”. Normally, anyway, with a cost of less of € 50,00 p.p. you can enjoy a private guided visit with the tasting of 3/4 wonderful wines – all in English language of course. |
IMPORTANT
Drivers are NOT allowed to accompany clients by foot through historical city centers or inside museums/villas/churches (since this is reserved by law to professional Guides). Drivers speak basic English and will be pleased to accommodate any request concerning the choice of a good restaurant, an alternative attraction, a souvenir shop, or any further help. In case of a walking-tour, they will also be pleased to provide a "smart" map (in English) of the place to visit with all its main attractions well highlighted. Extra hours (on demand, subject to availability) are subject to surcharge.
This proposal only relates to the offer of a car rental service with driver for the visit of the areas of the description above, and (eventually) of their visitable attractions, the costs of which are borne by the passengers and to be paid locally without any form of mediation on our part.
