Piazzale Roma is the main terminal from which you can reach the historic center of Venice being the key point of interchange between public transport by road (bus, tour buses, taxis and so on) and lagoon (boat and motor). It is placed at the beginning of the island of Venice and is connected to the mainland by the so-called “Ponte della Libertà” (Liberty Bridge), the 4 km. road-bridge across the Venetian Lagoon that is the only access for vehicular traffic to the city of Venice. In addition, the terminal is connected by the new Constitution Bridge (or Calatrava) to the adjacent Railway Station of Venezia Santa Lucia and, thanks to the recent People Mover, it is possible to reach in few minutes the Tronchetto Island (the Touristic Terminal from which the Ferry-Boats depart to Lido di Venezia) and the Port - Cruise Terminal of Venice.
